Norths Devils RLFC Unveils Red Rock Recruitment U19 Men’s Pre-Season Train on Squad & Head Coach Shannon Tupara for the 2024 Mal Meninga Cup

The Norths Devils Rugby League Football Club is proud to introduce the Red Rock Recruitment U19 Men’s pre-season train on squad for the upcoming 2024 Mal Meninga Cup.

Shannon Tupara, who coached the U16s Cyril Connell team in 2023, is set to be the new head coach of the emerging Devils. This appointment marks an exciting new chapter in our pathways and development, and the club is excited about what the future holds under his leadership.

Red Rock Recruitment is the proud sponsor of the Norths Devil’s male development pathways and holds the naming rights of both our U17 and U19 men’s teams. Their support is an investment in the players’ future and personal development — a testament to the core values of Red Rock.

The Norths Devils are excited to introduce the players who have earned their spots in the pre-season train on the squad. These players hope to compete in the upcoming season of the Mal Meninga Cup, the highest level of Rugby League in Queensland for players under the age of 19. The regular season for the competition for the U19s has been increased from seven to nine games, and the top two teams from each conference will face off in a finals series.

The pre-season train-on squad consists of only 38 players. Eventually, this squad will be reduced to 30 players before the start of the season. The competition for a spot was fierce, with over 100 players turning up to trial. The coaches had a difficult decision to make when selecting the final squad.

The club would like to thank the parents and guardians of these young athletes. Your unwavering support and encouragement provide a solid foundation for the players’ potential success. We understand the sacrifices you have made and the dedication you have shown in nurturing the aspirations of your young rugby league stars.

To the aspiring athletes who didn’t secure a place in the Red Rock Recruitment U19 Men’s team this time, remember that being a part of our club is more than just making the roster. It’s about being a part of a supportive community that fosters a love for the game. We acknowledge your dedication and desire to be a part of the Devils. Continue to hone your skills, participate in school and community rugby league, and please continue to nurture your passion for the sport.
