The NRL Dolphins are proud to announce a four-year affiliation with the iconic Brisbane club, Norths Devils, starting the 2024 season. This partnership joins Central Queensland Capras and Redcliffe Dolphins as key feeders to the Dolphins’ NRL program, enhancing grassroots pathways especially for the female game.
Celebrating their 90th anniversary and recent back-to-back Hostplus Cup premierships, Norths Devils have a storied history of developing NRL talent through previous affiliations with Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos. The new alliance will create a direct pathway for female players from North Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and Sunshine Coast to advance into the NRLW Dolphins via the new Dolphins NRLW Girls Academy. Additionally, a full-time Game Development Officer will be based at Bishop Park in Nundah to expand grassroots rugby league, supporting over 5,000 junior players and local schools.
Male players will also benefit, with select Norths Devils Hostplus Cup athletes gaining opportunities through Dolphins’ pre-season train-and-trial programs. In return, the Dolphins will supply NRL players to Norths during the Hostplus Cup season, fostering mutual growth and excellence.
This historic partnership, rooted in a relationship since 1959, aims to elevate rugby league standards in Queensland, nurture future stars, and strengthen community connections.
