Born in Edendale, New Zealand, Thomas McKenzie is a dynamic forward renowned for his aggressive running style and unwavering work ethic. His rugby league journey began with the Otago Whalers, where he showcased his potential and dedication to the sport.

In 2021, McKenzie relocated to Australia to further his rugby league career, joining the Norths Devils’ U21 Colts team. During the 2022 season, he was a consistent presence on the field, demonstrating his commitment and skill. ​

Seeking new opportunities, McKenzie signed with the West Brisbane Panthers in late 2023, aiming to gain further experience and exposure. His impressive performances during the train-and-trial period with the Panthers led to an upgraded Hostplus Cup contract with the Norths Devils in 2024, marking a significant milestone in his career. ​
