Valley Dragons JRLFC
Jack Ahearn, born on February 24, 1993, in Canberra, ACT, is a distinguished rugby league player renowned for his leadership and consistent performance. He began his rugby journey with the Valley Dragons JRLFC, showcasing early promise that led to his selection in the NRL Under 20 Team of the Year in 2013 and representation of the Junior Kangaroos.
Ahearn’s senior career commenced with the Souths Logan Magpies in 2014, followed by a tenure with the Redcliffe Dolphins from 2016 to 2017. In 2018, he joined the Norths Devils, making an immediate impact and eventually becoming the club’s captain. Under his leadership, the Devils secured back-to-back premierships in 2021 and 2022. Individually, Ahearn was honored as the competition’s Halfback of the Year in 2021 and was named the Devils’ Player of the Year for four consecutive seasons, equaling a club record.
After announcing his retirement in August 2023 to pursue a career as a firefighter, Ahearn returned to training with the Devils in May 2024, balancing his professional commitments with his passion for rugby league.
