Born on October 29, 1997, in Bourke, New South Wales, Matthew Milson is a dynamic fullback renowned for his agility and quick footwork. Hailing from Tingha, a town celebrated for producing rugby league talents such as Preston Campbell and Nathan Blacklock, Milson’s early experiences included spirited games of touch football and “rabbiting,” which honed his reflexes and speed.

Professional Career

Milson commenced his professional career with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, making his debut on August 19, 2018, against the Papua New Guinea Hunters. In 2021, he joined the Norths Devils, contributing significantly to their consecutive premiership victories in 2021 and 2022. Notably, his strategic play in the 2021 grand final, where he deliberately swatted the ball over the sideline to secure the win, underscored his game awareness.

After a stint back with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in 2023, Milson was honored with the Hostplus Cup Player of the Year award for his outstanding performance during the season. Additionally, he received the Supporters’ Award, reflecting his popularity and impact on the field.

In 2025, Milson returned to the Norths Devils, reuniting with coach Rohan Smith. Beyond the field, Milson is a dedicated family man, residing in Brisbane with his wife, Teagan, and their two children.
