Metuisela ‘Junior’ Taungatua is a promising rugby league forward known for his versatility in the second row and lock positions. Hailing from Brisbane, he developed his foundational skills with the Norths Devils Juniors and showcased his talent at Wavell State High School. Taungatua further honed his abilities with the West Brisbane Panthers, demonstrating his commitment to the sport.​

In 2022, Taungatua expanded his horizons by joining the Western Suburbs Magpies’ SG Ball squad, the under-19 team affiliated with the Wests Tigers. His inclusion in the squad was part of the club’s strategy to bolster their junior representative teams with promising talent. ​

By 2024, Taungatua returned to his roots, signing with the Norths Devils for the 2025 Hostplus Cup season. This move marked a significant milestone in his career, as he transitioned to a senior role within the club where he began his rugby league journey. ​
