FORZA GLOBAL DEADLY 1440 INDIGENOUS PROGRAM

MAKING THE MOST OF EVERY MINUTE

The Forza Global Deadly 1440 Indigenous Program connects young Indigenous students from Murgon State High School with the Norths Devils Hostplus Cup squad, giving them a hands-on experience of elite rugby league and everything that comes with it, from training alongside the players to being part of the gameday atmosphere at Premiers’ Park as part of the Forza Global Deadly 1440 Indigenous Round.

Now in its fourth year since launching in 2022, the program has become one of the most meaningful initiatives on the Norths Devils calendar. The name says it all — there are 1440 minutes in every day, and the Deadly 1440 program is built on the belief that every single one of them is an opportunity. Whether on the training field, in the classroom, or in the community, participants are encouraged to make the most of every moment and leave a mark that extends well beyond game day.

INSIDE THE PROGRAM

The program offers students from Murgon State High School an experience they won’t forget. Students spend a weekend in Brisbane as guests of the Norths Devils, getting up close with the Hostplus Cup squad in a way that goes well beyond watching from the hill.

Students will meet the Norths Devils players, watch and take part in training sessions, and sit down for dinner with the senior squad, building real connections with the men who represent the club each week. When the schedule aligns, participants are also treated to a visit to Suncorp Stadium to take in an NRL Dolphins game, experiencing elite rugby league at its very best.

Rounding out the weekend are a range of other club-led activities designed to inspire, engage, and create lasting memories.

It is an experience built on more than just football, it is about showing these young men what is possible when you make the most of every minute.

A PROUD PIECE OF DEVILS HISTORY

The program has ties to one of the Devils’ greatest players , Henry Hegarty, who came from Cherbourg as a young man to Nundah where he thrived as a dynamic centre in some of Norths’ greatest premiership teams.

Hegarty was a member of the Devils’ greatest-ever team alongside some of rugby league’s greatest names.

Norths Devils RLFC acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the region we serve: The Turrbal people. We pay our respects to the Elders, those who have passed into the dreaming; those here today and those of tomorrow.
