Dallas Davidson came through the Norths Devils Juniors system. He was a promising young player looking for the next step in his rugby league journey.
He’s a great example of someone who made the most of the RISE Program. He put in the effort to learn and develop, and now he’s starting to see the rewards.
Dallas brought a great attitude to every session. His energy was exactly what we look for in players eager to improve and take the next step in their football journey.
He took what he learned in RISE back to his community club and showed clear improvement. That effort helped earn him a spot in the Norths Devils Cyril Connell Cup team.
Now, he’s nearing the end of his first season playing rep-level footy in the QRL’s statewide Cyril Connell competition—a high-standard comp known for its intensity, skill level, and ability to unearth future stars of the game.
Dallas says the RISE Program helped build the foundation of his selection.
“I really wanted to play rep footy and was keen to do whatever I could to get there. I joined the RISE Program because I wanted to learn the right habits and give myself the best shot.
At first, I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but it ended up teaching me heaps — stuff like sticking to a routine, training with discipline, and staying consistent. I reckon those things made a big difference.
It’s a big reason why I’m in the Cyril Connell squad at Norths now. It gave me a solid platform, and I’m just excited to keep building from here.”
What is the RISE Program?
The RISE Program is designed for young male and female players who want to take the next step in their development. It prepares players for representative football and teaches them game skills while keeping them engaged with their local club during the program.
Our goal is for players to take what they learn in RISE back to their community teams to help lift the standard of footy right across the board.
The program combines skill development, fitness and strength education, and important life skills that help players improve both on and off the field.
“RISE helped me understand the standards expected at the next level,” Dallas said. “It wasn’t just about footy—it was how you prepare, how you train, and how you carry yourself.”
