The Norths Devils RLFC are excited to announce the appointment of Tasha Davie as the Coach of the U19s Women’s team for the 2024 season. Tasha brings extensive experience and a deep passion for Women’s Rugby League, having excelled both as a player and coach at the highest levels.
A prominent figure in New Zealand Women’s Rugby League, Tasha has dedicated over 28 years to the sport. She played for the Richmond Roses and represented New Zealand as a lock in the 2000 Women’s Rugby League World Cup. After a distinguished playing career, Tasha transitioned into coaching, where she has made significant strides, including being named the Auckland Rugby League Women’s Premiership Coach of the Year in 2023.
Tasha’s coaching journey began in 2017, driven by her passion for creating opportunities for young girls in rugby league. Since then, she has been a key advocate for the development of female coaches and players in Auckland, drawing on her experiences and mentorship from leading coaches like Crystal Kaua. Through her leadership, Tasha has inspired many young athletes and fellow coaches, making her the perfect fit to lead the next generation of Norths Devils talent.
The Norths Devils’ Women’s Pathway Program, proudly sponsored by Ironforge Security, remains dedicated to providing young women with opportunities to excel in rugby league. With Tasha’s leadership, the U19s Women’s team will continue to grow as a development ground for future stars.
Trial nominations for the U19s Women’s team are still open, giving aspiring players a chance to join this exciting program. Nominations close at COB Sunday, October 6. Don’t miss the opportunity to be coached by one of the sport’s most dedicated and innovative leaders.
