The Norths Devils Rugby League Football Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Leon Savelio as the Head Coach of the Ironforge Security U19 Women’s Team.
Leon’s coaching career is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the sport and the communities he supports.
Leon’s extensive experience includes managing various community squads, from the Aspley Devils U16s Women’s team to his involvement with the QLD Samoa Women’s team. His deep-rooted connections within the community and his remarkable ability to engage players and foster a team culture are qualities the club eagerly anticipates him developing in 2024.
With his wealth of experience, Leon possesses a deep understanding of the developmental requirements of young athletes. The U19 girls’ program is gaining recognition within the NRLW, and we prioritize preparing our athletes to excel at the highest level possible.
The club extends its sincere gratitude to the parents and guardians of these young athletes. Your steadfast support and encouragement lay a solid foundation for the potential success of these players. We recognize the sacrifices you’ve made and the dedication you’ve shown in nurturing the aspirations of your young rugby league stars.
Out of a competitive field, only 32 players have earned their place in the preseason. We commend each player for their dedication and effort during the trials.
Throughout the season, these young women will have the opportunity to refine their skills under the expert guidance of our development program. Our aim is to instil the values and principles that define the Norths Devils and prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead.
Introducing the 2024 Ironforge Security U19 Women’s Team
Congratulations to the 32 outstanding young women who have earned their spots on the squad. Here is your 2024 Ironforge Security U19 Women’s Team, representing the future of the Devils.
This marks the Norths Devils’ second season fielding a U19 Women’s team, and we are excited to witness their ongoing progress year after year. These foundational steps in women’s rugby league are taking root, and we eagerly anticipate their growth and success in the upcoming seasons.
