Remembering Devils life member Stan Hassum

We are sad to announce the passing of Devils life member, and Devil No.188, Stan Hassum this week.

A pugnacious second rower who played his best football during the mid-fifties, Stan was Norths Player of the Year in 1954, when he also represented Brisbane. He was also once named the ‘Pin Up Boy of Norths’

Stan enjoyed a stellar career on the field, then leveraged his talents to serve Norths off it. He was a selector and on the grading committee from 1959-1968, a period spanning the most successful decade in club history.

He was awarded Life Membership in 1967.

Stan was still seen at the Devils in recent years, especially for his annual Christmas party.

Stan’s funeral will be held 11AM Wednesday 16 February at Victory Church, 32 Castledine Rd, Bridgeman Downs with all welcome to attend.
