The Norths Devils have announced their first three re-signing players for 2022 as pre-season gets underway at Bishop Park.
Captain Jack Ahearn, try scoring extraordinaire Jonathon Reuben, and grand final star Michael Sio have all signed on to remain at the Devils for the 2022 season.
Captain Jack is Back! We are extremely excited to welcome our captain Jack Ahearn back to the Devils for the 2022 season. Jack has been a core part of our journey over the last 4 years, his dedication and effort both on and off the field being second to none.Jack was named Intrust Super Cup halfback of the year in 2021 by the QRL, before leading our squad to a premiership win. Jack also won his third consecutive Norths Devils Player of the Year award this year.Welcome back Jack!
JR is returning for 2022! Jon had a great year, surpassing 100 tries in his Intrust Super Cup career (setting the record for fastest player to 100 tries) and also receiving winger of the year for the whole competition. Jon was a key part of the passage of play that secured the grand final win at Moreton Daily Stadium last month, and has been an x-factor player for the Devils throughout 2021. Welcome back Jon!
We’re are thrilled to announce Michael Sio will be returning to the Devils in 2022! Mikey has been an extremely valuable player for our team over the past 4 years and stepped up as captain this year in Jack Ahearn’s absence. A versatile, experienced, and spirited player, Mikey has stepped up to the plate time and time again for his teammates. This was exemplified in the grand final when he had a try assist, blocked a field goal, and ran for over 100 meters. Welcome back Michael Sio!
