Greatest Devil poll winner is crowned

It was a race to the finish in the Greatest Devil fan poll, with club legends and team mates Henry Hegarty and Fonda Metassa battling it out for the grand final.

It was an extremely close call that went down to the wire, and was only decided in the final hours of the poll.

The Norths Devils would like to congratulate Fonda Metassa on being named the Greatest Ever Devil!

It seems the pair had a nearly 50/50 split of the votes for most of the duration of the poll and fittingly so. Both players were extremely influential in North Brisbane area and are remembered for their grand personalities as much as their playing abilities.

Henry looked sure to win with a 24 hours left on the poll and leading with a comfortable margin. But a late surge from Fonda fans pushed him ahead just before the poll closed.

A massive congratulations to Fonda on such a great achievement, beating out some true Rugby League greats to take the crown.

Henry is also deserving of congratulations, coming so close to being our winner which is a testament to his legacy.

We would like to thank all who participated in our poll over the last few weeks.

It’s easy to say the Norths has one of, if not the most, impressive collection of former players stretching back to the roots of Rugby League in Brisbane.

We look forward to returning to the playing field soon.
