Devils edge out Falcons in final trial showdown

The 2020 Devils have impressed in three pre-season trial matches over the past three weeks.

The Devils final trial was against the Sunshine Coast Falcons on Saturday, with the Devils coming away 22 – 12 victors over last years minor Premiers (the Falcons opted to not attempt some conversions, with the final try tally being 4-3 in favour of the Devils).

Meanwhile the Devils U18s were also victorious 24 – 16, while the U20s fell just short at 20 – 16.

The result follows a 20 – 16 win over Redcliffe the week before, and a 24 – 24 draw against Wynnum Manly on Februray 15 for the ISC team.

The trials have set the platform for a good start to the season, giving the new players a chance to form combinations with our existing squad.

The Devils will play round 1 of the Intrust Super Cup at Mackay against the Cutters on Saturday March 14.

Then for round 2 we will host our first home game for the year on Sat March 21 against the Northern Pride.
