The Norths Devils have revealed their first ever Indigenous Jersey to be worn in the Intrust Super Cup Indigenous Round match against Souths Logan at Bishop Park on Sunday 14th July.
The Indigenous Round aims to celebrate the Indigenous Australians’ culture and heritage as well as bring attention to modern issues facing the Indigenous community.
Norths Devils have had many exceptional Indigenous players over the years, such as Greg Inglis and Henry Hegarty, and the Nundah area was inhabited by Indigenous people long before European settlement.
This is the first time the Devils have worn an Indigenous jersey and will be a special moment for their Indigenous players, as well as a time for players and fans of all backgrounds to unite in celebration of the unique Indigenous culture.
The jerseys worn in the match are up for auction now on eBay starting at just $90 and will be the only indigenous jerseys for sale. If you would like to take home part of Rugby League history and a beautiful jersey you can do so below:
